Chandrayaan-3 has landed on the moon. AI-driven sensors played a huge role in ensuring a secure landing.
Key points:
India becomes the first country to reach the moon’s lunar south pole, and the fourth country ever to achieve a moon landing.
AI-driven sensors helped the lander anticipate lunar topography, identify potential hazards, and navigate its descent.
AI will also assist the rover’s lunar exploration phase. AI algorithms will help locate and map intriguing lunar features, and chart the rover’s optimal route for efficient exploration.
AI will lead the analysis phase after the spacecraft collects data.
The bottom line: AI is establishing itself as a crucial asset across different industries. Chandrayaan-3 may set the stage for the future of AI-driven space exploration.
🤖 AI Tool of the Day: Remini — Turn selfies into professional headshots
Remini can generate pro-quality, realistic images from just eight selfie photos. The app went viral last month after users realized Remini could be used to create AI headshots.

Hollywood producers are turning up the pressure on striking writers — but writers aren’t caving. The Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) publicly released a counteroffer to the Writers Guild of America (WGA) on Tuesday.
Key points:
The counteroffer details proposals surrounding AI, residuals, streaming data transparency and more.
The AMPTP claims this offer “addresses all of the issues the Guild has identified as its highest priorities.” It was first presented to writers on August 11.
The WGA writes that the AMPTP is just trying to get writers to “cave.”
It met with the CEOs of Disney, Netflix, Warner Bros. and others this week. The counteroffer was released publicly shortly after.
The bottom line: Writers have been on strike since May, with Hollywood actors joining them in July. The strike is still at a stalemate as both sides refuse to give in to the other’s demands.
