🗞️ Nvidia unveils new superchips to power AI PCs

Source: Nvidia

Yesterday Nvidia debuted its GeForce RTX 40 SUPER series of desktop graphics cards at CES 2024

Key points:

  • The GeForce RTX 40 SUPER family features three chips that are up to 2.5x faster than Nvidia’s previous generation of GPUs.

  • Although the cards are primarily designed for gaming, Nvidia says the new GPUs are also powerful options for running AI applications locally.

  • AI PCs will eventually allow users to access generative AI apps from their own devices, ensuring that private data isn’t uploaded to the cloud.

What this means: Nvidia’s new GPUs will usher in a new wave of laptops and desktops designed to run AI natively rather than in the cloud. AI PCs will be available to consumers and enterprises soon.
