🗞️ The Latest: Microsoft introduces ‘everyday AI companion’

Microsoft had a busy day at its Microsoft Surface and AI event yesterday. The company announced Microsoft Copilot, 365 Chat and updates to Windows 11 and Bing.
Copilot:
Microsoft Copilot unifies several formerly separate Copilot assistants. The new “everyday AI companion” will be available across Windows 11, Microsoft 365, the Edge browser and Bing.
Copilot in Windows will let you control parts of the desktop experience with text or voice commands.
The company introduced new capabilities for Copilot in Outlook, Word, Excel, Loop, OneNote and OneDrive.
Microsoft 365 Chat:
365 Chat can search through all of your information, including emails, meetings, chats, documents and the web.
Like an assistant, 365 Chat “has a deep understanding of you, your job, your priorities and your organization.”
Microsoft hopes that 365 Chat will give users a head start on tedious or complex tasks.
Windows 11/Bing:
Windows 11 apps like Word, Paint and Edge have gained AI features like background removal, image creation and enhanced search.
Bing will make DALL-E 3, OpenAI’s latest text-to-image model, accessible for free.
Bing will also have more personalized answers based on history, a new AI shopping experience and updates to Bing Chat Enterprise.
The bottom line: Microsoft 365 Copilot will be like having a 24/7 personalized assistant who knows everything about you and your job. These ambitious developments could kick start a new era of personalized AI.
🤖 AI Training: Write outreach emails with ChatGPT
Cold emailing can be tough, but AI has made it easier than ever to write personalized outreach emails at scale.
The prompt: “Write a personalized outreach email inviting [name] from [company] to [action].”
Add additional information as you see fit.
Example: “Write a personalized outreach email inviting John Doe from Apple to subscribe to my free AI newsletter, The Daily Update. John’s LinkedIn profile suggests that he is an AI enthusiast and interested in keeping up with the latest developments in the field. The Daily Update is sent five days a week and shares all of the latest news in AI.”
📸 Business Spotlight: YouTube unveils new AI tools for creators
Source: YouTube
Yesterday YouTube announced four new AI-powered tools that will simplify the content creation process.
What’s new:
AI Insights will generate new video ideas based on what creators’ audiences are watching.
Dream Screen will create AI-generated videos and photos that creators can place in the background of their YouTube Shorts.
An AI-powered music recommendation system will take a written description of a creator’s video and suggest audio to use.
Aloud is a new dubbing tool that will allow creators to translate videos into various languages.
Why it matters: YouTube developed these tools to assist content creators with their most time-consuming tasks, such as brainstorming and editing. This new wave of AI tools could make content creation more accessible to creators of all levels.
The other side: AI-generated content will become more common on YouTube. The spread of synthetic media could be dangerous if the platform doesn’t introduce labels for AI-generated materials.
