🗞️ The Latest in AI: MetaGPT simulates entire companies
Source: GitHub
Worker replacement fears have run high since ChatGPT exploded in popularity last fall. Now, a new AI tool may lead to fears of entire company replacements.
MetaGPT tries to simulate a software company by assigning roles like engineers, architects and project managers to AI language models. The tool has already surpassed 20,000 stars on GitHub.
How it works:
MetaGPT uses GPT-4.
It takes a one-line requirement of text or code as input.
MetaGPT outputs user stories, competitive analysis, requirements, data structures, APIs, documents and more.
AI agents are assigned distinct roles.
The model activates a chain of agents that each contribute to a given task.
Agents produce outputs based on specific prompts and their designated job profile.
The system’s two-tier architecture directs agent behavior and fosters collaboration.
MetaGPT emulates an entire software agency.
Why it matters: It’s still too soon for MetaGPT to replace an entire company. That said, it may be a glimpse into the future of worker replacement. While this is a scary prospect, it could also empower entrepreneurs to launch companies without the traditional restraints of capital and labor.

📸 Business Spotlight: HeyGen has created lifelike AI-generated avatars
[NEW] - Joshua Avatar 2.0 🤖✨. Both of these video clips were 100% AI-generated, featuring my own avatar and voice clone. 🎙️🎥

Last week HeyGen announced the 2.0 of its AI-generated avatar clones. The upgraded clones are shockingly realistic (see for yourself in the demo above).
Key points:
Joshua Xu, the founder of HeyGen, cloned himself using 100% AI in the demo.
The updated clones include huge improvements to video quality, voice cloning and accents.
Xu’s voice and accent were cloned in just two minutes.
HeyGen’s technology is only going to continue to improve over the next year.
The bottom line: It won’t be long before AI-generated content is sweeping across different types of media, and it will be almost impossible to tell what’s actually real.
