OpenAI just released a new feature for ChatGPT that suggests follow up prompts at the bottom of outputs. The company is also in the process of rolling out additional updates that will enhance the user experience.

New features:

  • Prompt examples

  • Suggested replies

  • GPT-4 by default for Plus users

  • Upload multiple files

  • Stay logged in for more than two weeks

  • Keyboard shortcuts

Why it matters: Although these are small updates, OpenAI’s attention to detail is commendable. Amidst competition with Google, Meta and Anthropic, OpenAI is showing receptiveness to user feedback. Conversations with ChatGPT feel more natural with every wave of new updates.

During Thursday’s Q2 2023 earnings call, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said that “every single one” of Amazon’s businesses has “multiple generative AI initiatives going right now.”

What you need to know:

  • Generative AI initiatives help Amazon be more cost-effective, streamline operations, and enhance customer experience.

  • Alexa could receive generative AI-based improvements.

Why it matters: Jassy’s comments stress how much Amazon is investing in artificial intelligence. He’s one of several CEOs to hype up AI this earnings season.
