The National Science Foundation (NSF) is joining forces with some of the biggest names in tech to launch the National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource (NAIRR) pilot program.
The details:
The NAIRR pilot aims to ensure that the U.S. continues to lead in AI research and innovation.
Participants include Amazon, Anthropic, Hugging Face, IBM, Intel, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia, OpenAI among others.
Federal agencies participating in the effort include the Department of Defense, NASA, the National Institutes of Health and more.
NAIRR is a product of President Biden’s AI executive order.
What this means: The NAIRR pilot will create a national resource for researchers and educators to access high-powered AI technologies. This will create more opportunities across the U.S. for advances in AI.

Amazon is leveraging AI to make healthcare more efficient and convenient for customers. Here are five ways the company is streamlining the delivery of medications:
Improved processing: Digital prescriptions do not have a standard structure. Amazon runs unstructured prescriptions through an AI model that provides clear instructions for its clinical staff and patients.
Forecasting demand: Amazon Pharmacy uses AI and ML to stock the right medications at each location.
Best price search: Amazon’s LLMs offer real-time insurance estimates on prescription medications, helping customers find the best price right from its site.
Offering better support: Generative AI summarizes internal documents and knowledge bases so that Amazon’s clinical and customer care team can respond to questions faster.
More efficient delivery: AI prioritizes urgent requests so that patients can get their medications more quickly.
