The hacker group Anonymous Sudan has taken credit for a DDoS (distributed denial-of-service) attack on ChatGPT that caused outages over two days.
What you should know:
The group with reported ties to Russia said it targeted OpenAI for investing in Israel and being biased against Palestine.
Anonymous Sudan hit ChatGPT with a DDoS attack, in which a hacker floods a server with traffic to prevent users from accessing the site.
ChatGPT encountered service interruptions for two days until the issue was resolved on the evening of Nov. 8.
The attack delayed the launch of new ChatGPT features announced at OpenAI DevDay.
Why it matters: This attack serves as a reminder that consumer-facing AI technology is still new and vulnerable. Although Anonymous Sudan only sought to destabilize OpenAI’s services, data privacy concerns should be considered every time you sign up for a new AI tool.
AI TOOL OF THE DAY
🤖 Optimize your website with RivalFlowAI

Now it’s time for another AI tool of the day (impeccable timing, I know). Fortunately, this one requires very little input other than your website URL and email address.
RivalFlowAI analyzes your website and identifies areas for SEO improvement, ultimately making suggestions to boost your web page rankings. It even provides AI-written copy that fits in with your existing content to close gaps in your website. Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Paste your website URL.
Step 2: Confirm your region and competitors.
Step 3: Create a free account.
Step 4: View your SEO recommendations and make improvements!
Note: RivalFlowAI automatically identifies competitors as websites with the most keywords in common. I recommend manually running a few Google searches in which you want to improve your web page ranking, and then inputting the top sites as competitors.
BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT
📸 Nvidia develops AI chips for China to avoid US restrictions
Source: Adobe Firefly
Nvidia has developed three new chips tailored for China that comply with U.S. export controls.
Key points:
A few weeks ago the U.S. restricted the sale of high-performance chips to China in hopes of stunting the country’s AI development.
The H20, L20 and L2 chips aim to meet China’s growing demand for AI technology while complying with these restrictions.
Mass production of Nvidia’s new chips is expected to begin soon.
Nvidia hopes to maintain its foothold in one of its most important markets.
The relevance: Politicians and experts agree that maintaining a technological edge over China is paramount as AI continues to evolve. Nvidia is walking a tight rope as it trys to satisfy one of its largest markets while adhering to U.S regulations.
